AUBURN, Ala. - Blake Griffith hit his first home run of the season while Cam Post, Mario Camilletti, Bobby Cavin, Emmanuel Clark and Austin Higgins each recorded at hit as Oakland fell 17-1 at No. 8 Auburn on Wednesday night at Plainsman Park.

Dan Rutan picked up the loss in his first career start with two strikeouts while allowing only two earned runs. Matthew Nolin went 3.0 innings allowing only one hit with a team-high five strikeouts in relief.

After Griffith hit a shot over the left field wall giving Oakland (2-1) a 1-0 lead in the second inning, errors proved to the difference in the bottom half of the frame. Auburn (5-0) posted seven runs on six hits with only two runs being earned to take a 7-1 lead.

After the Tigers moved ahead 11-1 in the seventh inning, Oakland had its best chance to get add some runs in the top of the eighth as Clark recorded his first career hit with a single followed by a pinch hit single from Post. Camilletti then drew a walk to load the bases with one out but the Golden Grizzlies could not place any runs to cut into the deficit.

Auburn then batted around in the bottom of the eighth scoring six runs on five hits as errors led to five of the runs being unearned. For the game, 10 of Auburn's 17 runs were unearned. 

Oakland travels to Alabama State for a game on Friday, Feb, 21 at 7 p.m. ET.
