DETROIT -
Jalen Moore scored a game-high 23 points as the Oakland men's basketball team defeated Detroit Mercy 83-80 at Calihan Hall for the weekend sweep, and the ninth-straight win in the Metro Series.

Moore dished the ball to Rashad Williams on the baseline as Williams sank the game-winner with under two seconds left on the clock to give the Golden Grizzlies their seventh-straight win in Calihan Hall, dating back to 2016.

Moore scored 18 first half points and went an impressive 9-12 from the floor, 3-4 from long-range, adding seven assists and three steals in 36 minutes of play.

Zion Young scored a career-best 19 points, paired with a career-best six boards. Young went 4-9 from 3-point range, his four triples also a best for the junior in his Golden Grizzlies' career.

Williams finished with 18 points and chalked up his fourth game this season with five or more triples, going 5-13 from beyond the arc Sunday.

It was another back and forth battle in Calihan Hall, with 11 lead changes, 10 of which occurred in the second half. Detroit Mercy (1-7, 0-4 HL), led for 27 minutes of the game, compared to Oakland's 7:27, with the Titans leading by as much as 14 in the first half.  The Golden Grizzlies rallied and headed into halftime up 44-42.

Oakland (2-9, 2-2 HL) had a solid shooting performance, going 51 percent (30-59) from the floor, and 45 percent from downtown. The Golden Grizzlies have struggled from the free throw line this season but shot a season-best 90 percent from the line.

Oakland is scheduled to host Wright State (6-1, 4-0 HL) Jan. 1-2 at 7 p.m. and 5 p.m. respectively for its first home games of the year. Friday and Saturday's games will air on ESPN+/3.
