ORLANDO – Former Oakland men's basketball standout, and current Miami Heat guard,
Kendrick Nunn tallied 14 points, marking his third double digit NBA Finals performance in the Heat's 111-108 win over the LA Lakers Friday night.
The rookie also pulled down four boards, dished out three assists in 28 minutes. Nunn went 6-of-11 from the floor, hitting two triples on the night.
Nunn, the 2018 Horizon League Player of the Year, finished runner-up in the NBA Rookie of the Year voting behind Ja Morant, but in front of the first overall selection in this year's draft Zion Williamson. During the regular season, the former Golden Grizzlies standout played in 67 games, all in the starting lineup, averaging 15.3 points per game in 29 minutes of action, while shooting 44 percent from the floor. He also chipped in 3.3 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game.
Game six of the finals is set for Sunday at 7:30 p.m. on ABC. The Heat trail the series 3-2.
