Â
What does being inducted to the Hall of Honor mean to you?
Being inducted to the hall of honor is very special to me. Every summer I used to go to Oakland's soccer summer camp and I would see the pictures on the wall. To now be a part of that myself is really cool.
Â
What does Oakland mean to you?
Oakland has been a big part of my life. It started when I was younger and would attend their soccer summer camps. Then I was able to have four amazing years at OU playing competitive soccer and earning my degree. I was able to continue my bond with OU after I graduated by watching my younger sister come through Oakland's soccer program.
Â
What is your favorite Oakland memory?
My favorite memories are winning the conference tournament and getting to play in the NCAA tournament.
Â
What does your sport mean to you?
My sport has given me so much. It taught me about hard work, dedication, being a good teammate and so much more. I love playing soccer and still continue to play every chance I get.
Â
What did you do after your Oakland experience?
After Oakland I started my career in clinical laboratory sciences using the degree I earned at OU. I have worked as a molecular microbiologist in a PCR lab for ten years. I now work part time and have two kids and one more one the way.
Â
This year's induction ceremony will take place on Friday, Jan. 24 at the Auburn Hills Marriott Pontiac. The event is open to the public, and those interested in attending can registerÂ
