CHICAGO -
Chloe Guingrich posted her second double-double of the season scoring a team-high 14 points with 11 rebounds and three steals while Breanne Beatty added a career-high 12 points as Oakland's second half rally came up short in overtime with a 70-64 setback at UIC on Saturday. Kahlaijah Dean also reached double figures for the fourth time with 10 points and four assists.

After trailing at halftime, Oakland (6-8, 1-2 HL) turned up the defensive intensity holding UIC (2-13, 1-3 HL) to only seven points in the third quarter to trail by only six points, 49-43.

A jumper by Kayla Luchenbach capped off a 11-3 run to open the fourth quarter giving Oakland its first lead of the game at 54-53 with 5:58 remaining.

Oakland's defense continued to be suffocating as the Golden Grizzlies held UIC without a field goal for a span of 6:49. After a free throw by Brianna Breedy, Jada Nneji made a layup to tie the game at 56-56 with 51 seconds left ending the Flames' scoring drought.

On Oakland's next possession, Luchenbach's jumper from the top of the key rimmed in and out setting up UIC with a chance for the final shot of the game. The Flames were unable to connect on ensuing possession as time expired sending the game into overtime.

In the overtime frame, UIC opened up with seven points while Oakland's offense struggled to get any production from the field as a pair of Dean free throws got the Golden Grizzlies on the board with a 1:37 left to play trailing 63-58. The Flames then closed the game from the free throw line while Breedy hit a pair of back-to-back 3-pointers in the final seconds.

Oakland opens a four-game home stand against Green Bay on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m.
