DAYTON, Ohio -
Kahlaijah Dean recorded her second career double-double coming off the bench scoring a game-high 22 points with 10 rebounds just missing her career mark by one board as Oakland dropped a 85-66 decision at Wright State in Horizon League action on Saturday at the Nutter Center. Jalisha Terry and Kayla Luchenbach each scored in double figures with 13 and 10 points respectively.

Chloe Guingrich added eight points with four rebounds followed by Alona Blackwell with six points. Breanne Beatty also grabbed seven rebounds.

Wright State's (12-8, 7-2 HL) size down low proved to be difference as the Raiders held a 40-30 points in the paint advantage while grabbing 53 total rebounds with 23 offensive boards that led to 22 second chance points. Oakland (8-12, 3-6 HL) totaled 14 assists on 24 made baskets while going 12-for-16 (75%) from the charity stripe.

It was the Dean show through out the first half as she scored 15 of Oakland's 19 points by the 6:06 mark of the second quarter as the Golden Grizzlies trailed 27-19. Down the stretch, WSU went on a 16-3 overall run with a 10-0 spurt before Blackwell hit a triple as time expired with Oakland trailing by 15 points, 43-28, at the half.

In the second half, WSU was able to hold Dean to just seven second half points while extending their lead up to 18 points points in the third quarter.

Oakland went on a 8-0 run to cut the deficit to 14 at 75-61 in the fourth quarter but it was too little too late as WSU closed out the game on a 10-5 run to secure the win.

The Golden Grizzlies return to the Blacktop for a Metro Series showdown against arch-rival Detroit Mercy on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m.
