ROCHESTER, Mich. -
Autumn Kissman scored in double figures for the fourth consecutive game posting a team-high 16 points on 7-for-14 shooting while Kahlaijah Dean added 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting and 2-for-2 from the 3-point line as Oakland battled through three quarters before Cleveland State pulled away in the fourth quarter leading to a 79-58 setback on Saturday at the O'rena.

Alona Blackwell added nine points off the bench while Chloe Guingrich grabbed a team-best nine rebounds with eight points. Jalisha Terry dished out a team-high five of Oakland's 21 assists on 22 made baskets.

After Oakland (8-10, 3-4 HL) was only trailing by two points, 48-46, at the end of the third quarter, the fourth quarter proved to be the difference. Cleveland State (14-4, 4-3 HL) went on a 12-4 run to move ahead by 10 points at 60-50 and never looked back outscoring the Golden Grizzlies 31-12 while shooting a staggering 56 percent from the field overall in the frame en route to the win.

At the 3:30 mark of the third quarter, Dean hit a 3-point jumper from corner and was fouled in the process. She sunk the ensuing free throw to complete the rare 4-point play giving Oakland a 42-40 lead. However, CSU closed out the quarter on a 8-4 spurt to take a 48-46 lead.

Both teams played even through the first five minutes of the second quarter which left the Golden Grizzlies trailing by five points at the half, 29-24.

After CSU went on an 11-4 run to open the game, Oakland responded out of the media time out with a 10-2 run of their own to take their first lead of the game at 14-13 to end the first quarter.

Oakland hits the road for a pair of league games starting at Northern Kentucky on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m.
