INDIANAPOLIS – Oakland's Susan LaGrand earned this week's Nike Horizon League Swimmer of the Week honors after another strong performance in the pool last weekend for the Golden Grizzlies. 
 
LaGrand swam to three of Oakland's four first place finishes Friday night against Cincinnati and Kenyon College. LaGrand cruised to the top spot in the 100 butterfly (55.41) and 100 backstroke (55.72). The sophomore also swam to a first place finish in the 200 medley relay in 1:44.66. LaGrand continued Saturday's competition with three more top finishes in the 200 backstroke (2:01.54), 200 IM (2:04.93) and the 400 medley relay (3:49.11). In total, the Grand Rapids, Mich. native swam to six first place finishes out of seven races.
 
Tuesday's announcement marks the third time this season LaGrand has been named Swimmer of the Week.
