PEORIA, Ill. --
Jamie Walling recorded a season high 24 kills, hitting .465, plus eight digs as the Oakland volleyball team defeated DePaul in four sets Saturday at the CEFCU Bradley Invitational. It was Walling's second-straight, and sixth career, match of 20 kills or more.
Taylor Dellinger registered a career high 20 kills and added seven digs. She has recorded career highs in kills in back-to-back matches.
Lindsay Wightman led the Golden Grizzlies' defense with 19 digs, while
Madison Ross and
Sydney Mann added 11 and 10 digs respectively.
In the second match of the day,
Brittany Welch hit 12 kills and added three blocks and three digs as the Golden Grizzlies fell in four sets to Bradley.
Walling and Dellinger once again led the offense with 15 and 13 kills respectively while
Megan Hobler recorded seven block assists and three solo blocks. Overall, Oakland registered 17 blocks as a team, just one shy of its four-set match record.
Oakland (3-2) will conclude the tournament tomorrow with a match against Belmont at 11:30 a.m. ET.
