ROCHESTER, Mich. -
Spencer Nolff scored his first goal of the season off assists from Dawsun Schrum and Dyan Borczak as Oakland played arch-rival Detroit Mercy to a 1-1 double overtime draw on Saturday night. The Golden Grizzlies (4-3-2, 2-0-1 HL) remain unbeaten at 4-0-2 against the Titans (2-5-1, 0-2-1 HL) since the inception of the Metro Series in 2014.

After both teams battled defensively to remain scoreless at the half, Nolff got Oakland on the board in the 68th minute. Borczak got the ball up to Schrum who took a touch on the right side and fired a beautiful cross to Nolff who delivered a one-time strike into the right side of the net giving the Golden Grizzlies a 1-0 lead.

In the 74th minute, Oakland was called for a hand ball inside the box which resulted in Detroit Mercy's Kyle Bandyk getting the equalizer by connecting on the ensuing penalty kick.

Just four minutes later, UDM's Daniel Iyok was accessed a second yellow card resulting in a red card leaving the Titans a man down the rest of the match.

However, Oakland would not capitalize on the man advantage for the rest of regulation and only had one shot during both overtime periods.

The Golden Grizzlies travel to Wright State on Sat., Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.
