
DAYTON, Ohio - Dylan Borczak connected on a diving header off a failed clear attempt in the 98th minute of overtime for the game-winning golden goal giving Oakland a thrilling 3-2 win at Wright State on Saturday night at Alumni Field.
Evan Sawula and
Charlie Braithwaite also scored a goal each to help the Golden Grizzlies remain unbeaten in Horizon League play at 3-0-1.
After Wright State (5-4-1, 1-2 HL) took a 1-0 lead off a penalty kick,
Noah Jensen kicked a long ball up to Braithwaite who passed it to Borczak. Borczak then made a slicing move and slipped the ball back to Braithwaite who got behind the defense and delivered the equalizer.
Sawula took a failed clear attempt and delivered a rocket shot into the back of the net in the 18th minute giving the Golden Grizzlies a 2-1 lead.
After the Raiders got the equalizer at 2-2 in the 28th minute, each team would not score in the second half until Borczak's heroics in overtime.
Oakland returns home for a non-conference match against Western Michigan on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
