OAKLAND REMAINS UNDEFEATED IN LEAGUE PLAY WITH DOMINATING WIN AT GREEN BAY

Golden Grizzlies record three first-half goals, Lauderdale notches second shutout of the season

9-21-19 at Green Bay Final Graphic: Oakland 3, Green Bay 0

GREEN BAY, Wisc. -
Charlie Braithwaite, Evan Sawula and Dylan Borczak each scored a goal over a seven minute span in the first half to lead Oakland to a 3-0 dominating win at Green Bay on Saturday night at Aldo Santaga Stadium. Sullivan Lauderdale recorded his second shut out of the season while the back line limited the Phoenix to just seven total shots with two on goal.

Oakland's (4-2-1, 2-0 HL) first goal at the 29:37 mark featured precision tic-tac-toe passing as Elliott Bentley passed the ball the Braithwaite who then passed it to Cameron Wilde. Wilde in turn took the ball down the left side and sent a crossing pass back over to Braithwaite who connected on a sliding shot putting the ball high into the top right corner of the net.

Just four minutes and 15 seconds later, Borczak sent a hard shot on frame that Green Bay (1-4-2, 0-2 HL) keeper Jamison Yoder turned away but the ball deflected to Sawula who put the rebound into the back of the net giving Oakland a 2-0 lead.

During the 36th minute, Borczak would not be denied as he took a pass from Bentley and Noah Jensen and fired a missile of a shot past Yoder from the 18-yard line box putting the Golden Grizzlies ahead 3-0 just before halftime.

During the second half, Lauderdale and the back line was able to keep the Phoenix off the board to preserve the shutout win.

Oakland returns home for a non-conference match against DePaul on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.
