YPSILANTI, Mich. --
Lindsay Wightman recorded a match high 23 digs and added five assists as the Oakland volleyball team fell in five sets at Eastern Michigan on Saturday in exhibition play.
Offensively,
Taylor Dellinger led Oakland with 11 kills while
AnnaBelle Tomei and
Madison Ross added 13 and 11 assists respectively.
After dropping the first set 25-9, the Golden Grizzlies bounced back by taking the second set 25-19. EMU took set three 25-20 and Oakland won the fourth set 25-23. In the fifth and deciding set, the Eagles came out on top 15-6 to seal the win.
Oakland will begin its regular season with a pair of matches on Aug. 30 against No. 15 Michigan (11 a.m.) and Tennessee Tech ( 5 p.m.) in Ann Arbor.
