ROCHESTER, Mich. -- The Oakland University men's basketball team revealed its 2019 non-conference schedule announced by head coach Greg Kampe on Tuesday.

Oakland will take on a pair of local schools in exhibition play with Rochester University coming to the O'rena on Oct. 24 followed by Saginaw Valley State on Oct. 30. The Golden Grizzlies will welcome Goshen for their home opener on Nov. 5.

Oakland will participate in the inaugural Sunshine Slam tournament Nov. 8-10 at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Fla. Other teams in the tournament's field include Delaware, Southern Illinois, and UTSA, which consists of a round-robin format with each team playing the other over the course of the three days. 

The Golden Grizzlies will face a trio of Power-5 schools in Maryland, Michigan State and Syracuse, with the game against the Spartans taking place at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Oakland has faced Maryland just once in its history back in 2014 and traveled to Syracuse recently in 2017.

Oakland will host Connecticut schools Hartford and Fairfield on Nov. 18 and Dec. 21 respectively, plus face four-straight MAC schools on the road from Nov. 25 through Dec. 7.
