OAKLAND FALLS IN DOUBLEHEADER AGAINST WRIGHT STATE

Zilinsky and Camilletti combine for nine hits

TOLEDO, Ohio -
 Myles Zilinsky went a combined 5-for-7 with a home run, double, RBI and three runs scored for a staggering 1.286 slugging percentage while Mario Camilletti went 4-for-7 with four runs and two RBI as Oakland fell 28-10 and 4-3 to Horizon League leader Wright State in doubleheader action on Thursday at Mercy Field. Defensively, catcher Mike McGee was the star of the second game as he threw out four runners caught stealing.

Ronnie Krsolovic posted three hits with a double while Matt DiLeo had two hits with a home run, two runs and a pair of RBI. Blake Griffith recorded two doubles with three RBI. Drew Demumbrum also had two hits with a double and two RBI with Ryan Fitzgerald adding two hits with a double and RBI.  

In the nightcap, Zilinsky's solo home run tied the game in the bottom of the first inning followed by DiLeo's solo shot in the fourth gave Oakland (11-35, 9-17 HL) the lead at 2-1. 

After WSU (40-15, 21-8 HL) tied the game at 2-2 with an unearned run in the top of the fifth, the Golden Grizzlies loaded the bases but could not capitalize. 

The Raiders then moved ahead with a home run in the top of the eighth. However, Oakland would respond as Camilletti singled to left field scoring McGee tying the game at 3-3. With runners at second and third, Demumbrum reached on fielder's choice as McGee tried to score from third for the go-ahead run but was thrown out at the plate by the third baseman.

WSU then added a RBI triple in the top of the ninth to move ahead for good.

In game one, Oakland posted 10 runs off 17 hits but were out done by 28 runs off 27 hits from WSU. Camilletti went 3-for-4 with a RBI and three runs scored while Griffith hit 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI doubles. 

The Golden Grizzlies scored three runs in the first inning off a RBI single from Camilletti, groundout from DiLeo and double from Demumbrum and added another run in the third off a RBI double from Griffith. 

Oakland pulled closer with three more runs it the fifth inning trailing 13-7 but the Raiders blew the game open scoring nine more runs in the eighth en route to the win.

Both teams play the series finale on Friday, May 17 at 11:30 a.m. on Senior Day.
