
ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies Track and Field team is geared up to travel to Raleigh, N.C. for the annual Raleigh Relays, hosted at the Paul Derr Track & Field Facility. Competition on Friday is set to start at 9 am, kicking off with the women's 5000m while Saturday events are slotted to begin at 9:30 am.
Live results as well as a live stream (two hours per day) will be available.
Last year at the Raleigh Relays,
Bryce Stroede and
Rachel Levy both set new school records in the 10000m (29:28.19) and 5000m (16:28.40), respectively. In addition,
Maggie Schneider placed 32
nd in the 5000m with a time of 16:38.18 and
Andrew Bowman ran the 3000m steeplechase in 8:52.64, placing second.
Last time out,
Jimmie Williams broke a school record in the 400m dash, also placing first in the event at the Vertklasse Meeting. His 47.11 ranks first in the conference as well as 24
th nationally. His performance landed him Horizon League Runner of the Week honors. In addition,
Hannah Hall won her very first collegiate meet, placing first in the high jump by a mark of 5 ft., 3.25 in.
Brandon Davis won the long jump section, jumping 22 ft., 6.25 in. and
Sam Narusch tied for first in the men's high jump by a mark of 6 ft., 3.25 in.
