
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Despite out hitting their opponent 17 hits to 12, the Golden Grizzlies couldn't push anyone across home plate, dropping the series finale to Youngstown 14-9.
Kelsie Swanson,
Jessie Munson and
Lauren Griffith all had exceptional days at the plate, all going 3-for-4. Swanson and Griffith each recorded an RBI as well.
Brittney Miller,
Shannon Carr and
Rachel Zerona each went 2-for-4, Miller and Carr tallying an RBI each.
Jamie Squires and
Jackie Reitmeyer each added a hit of their own in the high-scoring contest.
Emily Karas was charged with the loss as she pitched 4.1 innings, giving up only four hits and recording six strikeouts. Karas gave up five runs before Wiggins and Debono both appeared in relief.
The Golden Grizzlies look to bounce back as they travel to in-state rival Detroit Mercy Mar. 26-27 to take on the Titans in the second conference series.
