CARR’S HOT BAT NOT ENOUGH AS OAKLAND DROPS TWO AT GWU

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Shannon Carr went 4-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in Oakland's loss to Sacred Heart 11-8. Oakland got on the board in the first inning when a single by Brittney Miller scored Jessie Munson and Kelsie Swanson. Carr added an RBI of her own in the first, scoring Mikayela Marciniak.
 
Four different Oakland players recorded RBI's while seven recorded hits. Chelsea Wiggins pitched two innings, recording the loss for the Golden Grizzlies.

2-16-19 GWU Final
 
In game two against host school Gardner-Webb, Kelsie Swanson and Jamie Squires recorded the only two hits for Oakland as Squires hit her first home run of the season in the 5-1 loss.
 
Oakland will cap off its opening weekend tomorrow with a single game against Loyola-Chicago at 10 am.
