GAME 11: OAKLAND CONCLUDES TWO-GAME HOME SWING AGAINST LOURDES

ROCHESTER, Mich. –
Take a break from the holiday hustle and bustle, throw on your favorite ugly Christmas sweater and join
the Oakland women's basketball team as they wrap up a two-game home swing against Lourdes on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. The game is the second leg of a doubleheader following the men's game against Fairfield and will be broadcast live from the Blacktop at the O'rena on ESPN3 with Brad Golder on the call.
 
Notes:
Series History: This is the first meeting between the two schools.
 
A look at the Gray Wolves: Freshman Mare West (9.3 ppg) and junior Sara Semler (9.2 ppg) lead Lourdes in scoring followed by sophomore Erica Cary (4.3) and junior Miranda Green (4.2) who lead the way on the boards. Semler also leads the team in assists (2.8). The Gray Wolves are the second team from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Oakland has played this season. The Golden Grizzlies defeated Concordia, 76-42, to pick up their first win of the season (11/11).
 
Magic number 800: Oakland currently sits at 799 overall program wins needing just one more to reach 800.
 
Beatty Breaks Out: Breanne Beatty scored a career-high 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting while also hauling in a career-best five rebounds as Oakland fell to visiting Central Michigan, 65-47, on Wednesday night at the O'rena. Chloe Guingrich grabbed a game and season-high 15 rebounds just missing her career-best by one board while matching a career-mark with two blocks.
 
Lights Out Luchenbach: Kayla Luchenbach posted a career-high 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line at St. Bonaventure. In addition to her new career high against the Bonnies, Luchenbach shot 5-for-9 from the field and went 7-for-9 at the free throw line to post her first career double-double with 17 points while matching a career-best 10 rebounds as Oakland fell at No. 15 Michigan State. She has now reached double figures in six games this season.
 
Dean returning to form: Kahlaijah Dean scored a season-high 19 points off the bench on 8-of-16 shooting and 3-of-6 from 3-point range at St. Bonaventure. Since returning from injury against Jacksonville State, Dean has reached double figures two times with three total on the season.
 
Charity Stripe Production: Oakland leads the league in free throw percentage (77.9) which also ranks 15th nationally. Jalisha Terry also leads the league (91.7) and ranks 13th nationally. Kayla Luchenbach also ranks fifth in the league (80.6).
 
Guard the Arc: Oakland leads the Horizon League in 3-point field goal percentage defense (27.0) which ranks 26th nationally.
 
Lockdown D: Defensively, the Golden Grizzlies rank fifth in field goal percent defense (39.3), points-per-game defense (66.7) and steals (7.70).
 
Crash the Boards: The Golden Grizzlies are second in the league in total rebounds per game (39.2), defensive rebounds (27.4) and ranks third in offensive rebounds (11.8).  Luchenbach (5.2) ranks 16th individually.

Pass/Protect the Rock: The team ranks fourth in assist/turnover ratio (0.80) and fourth in turnover margin (0.40) while Terry (1.5) also ranks second.

Droppin' Dimes: Oakland ranks fourth in assists per game (13.30) while Terry (3.2) ranks fifth, while Brianna Breedy (2.7) and Dean (2.6) rank ninth and 10th respectively.

Gettin' Buckets: Terry (12.0) ranks ninth in the league in scoring and has reached double figures six times.
