ROCHESTER, Mich. - Sullivan Lauderdale recorded his fourth shutout of the season which all have come in Horizon League play as Oakland played Milwaukee to a scoreless double overtime draw on a cold and windy Saturday night.
Prior to the match, the team had a recognition for Adam Heinemann who passed away suddenly last month. Heinemann played for the Golden Grizzlies from 1996-00 helping the team to a NCAA Division II National Runner-Up finish.
Noah Jensen led the team with three shots while
Charlie Braithwaite,
Michael Teller and
Dawsun Schrum each recorded a shot on goal.
Aided by the windy weather conditions that made it difficult to put many shots on frame, Oakland 's backline only allowed one shot on goal which came in the 105th minute of the second overtime.
Oakland had a free kick opportunity from just outside the box in the first overtime which Spencer Noff's cross was deflected away from traffic in front of the net.
The Golden Grizzlies almost pulled off a miracle finish in the final seconds of the game as a Milwaukee defender's header attempt to clear a cross went backwards towards the Panthers' goal and hit the left post just before time expired.
Oakland concludes the regular season at Northern Kentucky on Friday, Nov. 8th at 1 p.m.
