ROCHESTER, Mich. --
Daniel Oladapo recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds on 8-of-9 shooting as the Oakland men's basketball team escaped with a 61-59 win over Rochester University Thursday night inside the O'rena.
Brad Brechting also scored 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting plus pulled down nine rebounds.
Xavier Hill-Mais added seven points and nine rebounds while
Tray Maddox Jr. notched seven points and five rebounds.
The Golden Grizzlies struggled from the free throw line, shooting 12-of-25 (48 percent), and shot just 3 of 18 from beyond the arc (17 percent).
The Warriors capitalized on 17 Oakland turnovers by outscoring the Golden Grizzlies 19-4 in fast break points.
Defensively, Oakland held Rochester to just 34 percent shooting from the floor and 25 percent from three-point line.
With the game tied at 59-59, Maddox Jr. drew a foul with two seconds remaining and sunk a pair of free throws to seal the win.
Oakland will return to action and play its final exhibition contest on Oct. 30 against Saginaw Valley State.
