ROCHESTER, Mich. –The Oakland women's soccer team will celebrate ALS Awareness Day Wednesday, Oct. 23 as the Golden Grizzlies welcome Northern Kentucky to the Oakland Soccer Field at 7 p.m.

The Golden Grizzlies enter Wednesday's game on a three game winning streak and have shutout their last two opponents in IUPUI (1-0) and Green Bay (2-0). Oakland (6-5-2, 4-1-1 HL) currently sits in second place in the Horizon League standings.

The last meeting between Oakland and Northern Kentucky (5-8-0, 2-4-0 HL) was in the Horizon League quarterfinals a season ago where the Golden Grizzlies earned the 2-1 win over the Norse to advance to the semifinals. The Golden Grizzlies own the series over the Norse at 4-3-1.

In honor of Oakland's long time athletic trainer, Tom Ford, the Golden Grizzlies will play in their annual ALS Awareness game. Free ALS Awareness wristbands and ribbons will be given to fans.
