
ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland men's soccer team hosts inter-state rival Michigan State for Senior Night on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. The match will be broadcast live from the Oakland Soccer Field on ESPN+ with the voice of the Golden Grizzlies
Neal Ruhl on the call along with legendary coach Gary Parsons.

Elliott Bentley,
Corentin Diverres,
Adam Giorgio,
Liam McQueenie,
Spencer Nolff,
Evan Sawula and
AJ Shaw for their hard work and dedication to the program.

In addition, the team will also honor Team IMPACT member
Alex VanHolder who joined the team in 2017 while battling a Medulloblastoma tumor on his brain stem. Alex went through an extensive surgery to remove most of the tumor and after getting regular treatments of chemo and radiation at Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich., he was deemed cancer free in March of 2018.

-Oakland (6-6-2, 4-1-1HL) is 3-8 over the last six matches against MSU (3-7-3, 3-1-1BIG). Oakland's last win over the Spartans came during the 2014 season with a 2-0 home victory. Last season, the Spartans advanced to the 2018 NCAA College Cup Final Four where they fell to eventual national runner-up Akron.

The last time out, Oakland dropped a heartbreaking 3-2 overtime decision at UIC for the team's first Horizon League setback of the season.
Noah Jensen recorded a goal just 53 seconds into the game and assisted on
Charlie Braithwaite's team-leading fifth goal of the season giving Oakland a 2-0 halftime lead. However, UIC rallied with two second-half goals and got the golden goal in overtime for the 3-2 win.

-Borczak leads the team in assists (8) which is tied for the league lead and also ranks seventh nationally. He also leads the team in points (16) which also is tied for fourth in the league.

-Borczak scored a goal with a season-high in assists (2) and points (4) in Oakland's 5-1 win at Robert Morris (8/30) and has recorded three points in a game with a goal and assist on three other occasions: vs IUPUI (10/12) at Green Bay (9/17) and at Wright State (10/5). He also recoded the equalizer to rally the Golden Grizzlies from a two-goal deficit to a 2-2 draw at Bradley (9/8).

-Braithwaite leads the team in goals (5) which is tied for fourth in the league and ranks second in points (11) followed by Jensen and Wilde in third (9) and Sawula (8) in fourth.

Sullivan Lauderdale has recorded three shutouts this season all in league play vs Cleveland State, Green Bay and IUPUI.
