ROCHESTER, Mich. –
The Oakland women's soccer team welcomes Detroit Mercy Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. in its annual Metro Series Showdown sponsored by United Shore. 
 
Wednesday's game will serve as a white out and be broadcast on ESPN3. The match between the Golden Grizzlies and the Titans was originally scheduled for Oct. 2, however the field was deemed unplayable due to rain.
 
MATCH-UP
  • Oakland and Detroit Mercy branded an annual rivalry called the Metro Series in 2013, which will be awarded to the school with the most head-to-head victories over the course of the academic year
  • The Golden Grizzlies have won the Metro Series title every year since its existence
  • Oakland owns the all time series against the Titans (2-7-2, 0-2-1 HL), 14-7-2
  • Detroit Mercy has not claimed a victory against the Golden Grizzlies in Rochester since 2008
