OAKLAND DROPS ROAD CONTEST AT IUPUI

Dean and Jones lead Oakland with 13 points each

INDIANAPOLIS - Kahlaijah Dean scored 13 points with four rebounds, three assists and three steals while Taylor Jones also added 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting as Oakland fell at IUPUI, 82-53, on Sunday afternoon.

LaKyesha Stennis and Autumn Kissman added five points each with Teneea Heston recording three assists.

For the game, Oakland (4-12, 1-4 HL) matched a season second-best going 11-for-14 (78%) from the free throw line which was countered by IUPUI (10-7, 4-2) who shot a blistering 27-for-30 (90%) from the charity stripe.

After trailing by 10 points, 43-33 at the half, the second half proved to be the difference as the Golden Grizzlies' offense was held to just five points in the third quarter and 15 in the fourth.

Oakland returns home to open a two-game stand beginning with Milwaukee on Friday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m.
