DETROIT – Freshman Alexa Sabbagh scored her first goal of the season, as the Golden Grizzlies defeated rival Detroit Mercy in the annual Metro Series showdown Wednesday afternoon from Titan Field.
 
Sabbagh's goal came at the 72nd minute off an assist from Sydnye Gagner.
 
Jaimie Leas recorded her first shutout of the season as Oakland outshot Detroit Mercy (3-5-3,  0-2-1 HL) 13-4.
 
The Golden Grizzlies now lead the 2018-19 Metro Series 4-0 against the Titans.
 
Oakland (1-9-1, 1-1-1 HL) returns home Saturday, Sept. 29 for a match against Green Bay at 7 p.m. Saturday's game is Childhood Cancer Awareness presented by Ascension Providence Rochester.
