ROCHESTER, Mich. - Evan Sawula celebrated his birthday in style scoring the game-winning goal propelling Oakland to a 2-0 win over visiting Duquesne on Saturday afternoon at the Oakland Soccer field.
Jacob Moore also added a goal with seven seconds left in the game.
Sullivan Lauderdale picked up his second shutout of the season with one save.
In the 30th minute,
Napoleon Outlaw III broke into the box on the left side and fired a shot off Duquesne keeper Robbie McKelvey which deflected right to a trailing Sawula who put the ball into the back of the net for his second goal of the season.
Moore's goal came off a break away as McKelvey came off his line trying to clear the ball which hit off Moore who was able to tap the ball into the empty net.
Oakland resumes Horizon League play at IUPUI on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 4 p.m.
