Lindsay Wightman recorded 39 digs, the second-most in program history for an individual match, plus added three assists as the Oakland volleyball team defeated Bowling Green in four sets Tuesday night at the Stroh Center. Wightman was not the only Golden Grizzly to flash their defensive skills as
Jordan Lentz and
Jordan Massab registered 12 and 10 digs respectively, and
Kenzie Dunn added nine in her return to her hometown.
Jamie Walling had a match-high eight blocks to go with her 12 kills while Lentz and
Krysteena Davis each recorded six blocks and four kills.
Offensively,
Mackenzie Schneider led the way with 14 kills and a hitting percentage of .438, both career highs.
Aleksandra Malek added nine kills and
Abby Neidinger had six.
Oakland (3-1) will take on a pair of Power-5 opponents on the road this weekend starting with Notre Dame Friday, Aug. 31 and ending at No. 20 Purdue Saturday, Sept. 1. Both matches are at 6 p.m.
