
HUNTINGTON, WVa. - Jacob Moore scored the game winner in the 82nd minute while
Dawsun Schrum and
Napoleon Outlaw III each scored as Oakland rallied with three second-half goals to defeat Marshall, 3-2, on Monday night at Hoops Family Field.
Sullivan Lauderdale picked up the win in goal making seven saves.
After the Marshall (1-1) got the 2-2 equalizer, Moore took a loose ball off a deflected pass form
Nebojsa Popovic on the left side just inside the 18-yard line box and unleashed a shot to the upper right corner giving the Golden Grizzlies (1-0-1) the lead for good.
The Thundering Herd took took a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute but it didn't take long for the Golden Grizzlies to even the match as
Travis Harrington took the ball off the restart deep down the right side and slotted a cross over to Schrum who delivered a strike into the back of the net just 14 seconds later for his first career goal.
In the 68th minute,
Corentin Diverres dribbled the ball to the left of the box and passed to a wide open Outlaw III who fired the ball beating the keeper to the left side giving Oakland a 2-1 lead.
Oakland continues its three-game road swing in the Windy City at DePaul on Friday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. ET.
