2018-19 Non-conference Schedule
ROCHESTER, Mich. -- The Oakland men's basketball team revealed its non-conference schedule for the 2018-19 season announced by head coach
Greg Kampe on Tuesday.
"I am very pleased to release our schedule, it is a cross-section of the last four or five years in that we have some very good Power-5 schools and we are also bringing in some new mid-majors into the O'rena," said Kampe. "We are keeping some traditional rivalries with homes games against Toledo, Western Michigan and Oral Roberts which we have a great history with. On top of that we are bringing in James Madison, Northern Illinois plus Oral Roberts for our tournament. It is a great home schedule and I am looking forward to it."
The Golden Grizzlies will host six regular season home games plus two exhibition contests at the O'rena. The six games include the Men Against Breast Cancer Oakland Hoops Challenge hosted by the Golden Grizzlies Nov. 23-25.
Oakland will face UNLV, Fairfield, Hartford and James Madison for the first time in program history and travel to a pair of Power-5 schools in Georgia and Michigan State. The Golden Grizzlies last faced Georgia on Dec. 23, 2016 at the O'rena when Oakland defeated the Bulldogs 86-79.
Season tickets are now on sale for the 2018-19 basketball season and can be purchased through the Oakland Athletics Ticket Office by calling (248) 370-4000.
