HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. -- Veronica Haque shot an even par 73 and finished tied for first place, before falling in a one-hole playoff to UIC's Kelly Sterling as the Oakland women's golf team wrapped up the Horizon League Championship at Mission Inn Resort Las Colinas course (par 73, 6,171 yards).The Golden Grizzlies nearly made up a 16-stroke deficit heading into the final day, falling to team champion IUPUI by five strokes.

Haque earned all-tournament honors by placing second and carding a total score of 228 (+9) while Kylee Sullivan joined her on the all-tournament team by placing tied for third at 229 (+10). Sullivan shot a round-three score of 76 (+3).

Fiona Schmidt wrapped up her career at Oakland with a final round of 75 (+2) and a total score of 232 (+13) to finish tied for sixth place.

Oakland carded a final team round of 307 (+15), the best among any school on the day, and finished with a total score of 942 (+66).
