ROCHESTER, Mich. - Taylor Jones scored a team-high 16 points going 3-for-6 from 3-point range and 5-of-10 from the field while Leah Somerfield just missed a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds as Oakland fell 86-66 to visiting Cleveland State on Saturday. Nikita Telesford also scored a season-high 12 points with six rebounds.
It was a tale of two halves as Oakland took a 39-34 lead into the locker room shooting 41 percent from the field. However, CSU switched to a zone defense to open the third quarter which limited the Golden Grizzlies' offense to just 27 second half points and less than 20 percent shooting.
Oakland opens a two-game road swing at Northern Kentucky on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 5 p.m.
