GAME 10: OAKLAND HOSTS MICHIGAN IN OVERFLOW THE O GAME

ROCHESTER, Mich. –
The Oakland women's basketball team looks to break the Athletics Center O'rena attendance record in the Overflow the O Game against Michigan on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast live from the Blacktop at the O'rena on ESPN+ with Brad Golder on the call.
 
Notes:
Overflow the O: The Golden Grizzlies are looking to eclipse the single game attendance record of 2,635 set against Michigan State back on Dec. 12, 2012.
 
Last Time Out: Autumn Kissman scored a career-high eight points on 3-of-4 shooting with two blocks while Taylor Jones added a team-high 10 points as Oakland fell 102-58 to visiting Michigan State on ALS Awareness Night at the O'rena on Wednesday (12/5).
 
At look at Wolverines: Michigan enters the game against Oakland at 6-3 after snapping a two-game skid with an 83-38 win over LIU Brooklyn on Thursday (12/6). The Wolverines are battle tested playing 4-of-9 games against nationally ranked opponents in No. 10 Texas, No. 13 NC State, No. 21 Missouri and No. 22 Marquette.
 
Series Breakdown: U-M leads the all-time series 7-5 and have won the last two consecutive meetings. The Golden Grizzlies' last win over U-M was a 74-68 decision on Dec. 28, 2004 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
 
Big Ten Trio: This marks the third consecutive season Oakland has played three opponents from the Big Ten Conference in Indiana (Nov. 11), Michigan State (Dec. 4) and Michigan (Dec. 9). Last season, the Golden Grizzlies traveled to Michigan, Michigan State and Northwestern. In 2016-17, Oakland opened the season at Michigan followed by at #22 MSU and at Indiana.
 
Return to Sender: Oakland leads the league in block shots (4.90) per game which ranks 33rd nationally. Individually, Mercy Agwaniru (1.0) leads the team and is seventh in the league (0.9) while Kayla Luchenbach (0.8), Chloe Guingrich (0.8) and Nikita Telesford (0.8) all are tied for 11th.
 
3-Point Bombs Away: LaKyesha Stennis leads the league in 3-point field goal percentage (42.6 - 75th nationally), ranks second in 3-point field goals (2.9 – 51st nationally) and second in 3-pointer field goals (26 – 21st nationally). As a team, Oakland is fourth in 3-point field goals made (7.3) and fifth in 3-point field goal percentage (30.4).
 
Jones Leading the Way: Senior Taylor Jones leads the team in scoring (14.9), assists (3.6), rebounds (6.2) and steals (1.9) and ranks 22nd nationally in field goal attempts (15.3).
 
Gettin' Buckets: Jones ranks fourth in the league in scoring (14.9 ppg). She has scored 20 points or more three times this season including 26 vs Grace Christian (11/6) in the season opener, 20 at CMU (11/8) and 23 at Kent State (11/18) totaling 21 times for her career and has reached double-digits in scoring 66 times.
 
Grab and Go: The Golden Grizzlies also rank second in the league in turnovers forced (17.50) and are tied for third in steals per game (8.00). Jones also ranks fifth in steals (1.8).
 
Dropping Dimes: Jones ranks third in the league in assists (3.6) and dished out a career-high nine assists against Grace Christian (11/6). Freshman Brianna Breedy also ranks 10th in the league (2.5).
 
Double-Doubles: Jones also recorded her second and third career double-doubles including 23 points and 11 rebounds at Kent State (11/18) and 16 points and career-high 13 rebounds vs Canisius (11/25).
 
Pass/Protect the Rock: The Golden Grizzlies are fourth in assist/turnover ratio (0.72) and turnover margin (-1.11) while Jones is sixth in conference in assist/turnover ratio (0.7).
