OAKLAND SIGNS GETTELFINGER DURING EARLY SIGNING PERIOD

The 6-foot-4-inch guard from Knoxville will join the Golden Grizzlies next season

ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Christopher Gettelfinger has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his basketball career at Oakland announced by head coach Greg Kampe on Wednesday. Gettelfinger, a 6-foot-4-inch guard from Knoxville, Tenn., is the first to sign with the Golden Grizzlies for its 2019 recruiting class.

  • Finalist for Tennessee's Mr. Basketball and Knoxville Player of the Year in 2018.
  • Won 2018 State Championship with Grace Christian Academy.

  • 2018 all-state team selection after averaging 24 points and six assists.
  • 2018 Preseason Rocky Top League MVP, averaging 30.4 points per game.
  • Holds the school record for most points in a game at Grace Christian with 43.
  • Made 12 three-pointers in a single AAU game in 2017 and recorded multiple 50-point games that season.
  • Played AAU for Knoxville Free Agents from 2013-2017, where his team finished in second place at the United States Basketball Association National Championship in 2016 and eighth place at the ESPN Nationals in 2017.
  • Played in the Under Armour Association with the Atlanta Xpress in 2018
  • His father Chris played basketball at Kentucky from 1977-81 and won the 1978 National Championship
  • Owns a 3.9 grade-point average
