ROCHESTER, Mich. -- The Oakland men's basketball team will face its second straight Mid-American Conference opponent by hosting Western Michigan Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. inside the O'rena. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and fans can also listen on WDFN-AM (1130) or with the iHeart Radio app.

Tuesday is Veteran Appreciation Night where veterans who present their military ID will receive free admission to the game. Oakland University's Phi Alpha Honors Society will also be doing a charity fundraiser collecting new or gently used winter items (coats, hats, gloves, scarves, etc.).

Last time out, Oakland fell in a hard-fought battle with Toledo in its home opener 87-86 as Xavier Hill-Mais recorded a career high 30 points and nine rebounds.

  • Western Michigan leads 8-4.
  • The Golden Grizzlies have won their last two meetings against the Broncos.
  • Leading 74-73 with 1:05 remaining in regulation, Oakland scored the last four points of the game to escape with a 78-73 win in Kalamazoo last season. 
NOTES
  • Hill-Mais was named Horizon League Player of the Week after a stellar night against Toledo on Nov. 9, recording a career high 30 points and nine rebounds in Oakland's home opener. He also went a career best 14 of 21 from the floor as he registered his first career 30-point game. 
  • James Beck scored a career high 13 points and pulled down nine rebounds against Toledo. Five of Beck's nine rebounds were on the offensive glass. 
  • Hill-Mais, Beck and Jaevin Cumberland combined for 24 career highs in Oakland's home opener.
