INDIANAPOLIS -- Oakland was picked to finish fourth in the 2018-19 Horizon League Men's Basketball Preseason Poll announced on Wednesday morning by the league office. The preseason poll was voted on by the league's 10 head coaches, media members, and men's basketball media contacts throughout the league.
The Golden Grizzlies finished the 2017-18 season in fourth place with a 19-14 overall record and a 10-8 league record. Defending Horizon League Tournament champion Wright State was picked to win the Horizon League, receiving 25 of 40 first-place votes. Defending regular season champion Northern Kentucky was picked second.
Oakland will open the regular season on Nov. 9 against Toledo at the O'rena and will host two home exhibition games on Oct. 24 (Hillsdale) and Nov. 6 (Kalamazoo).
