May 4, 2017 ROCHESTER, Mich. ââ'¬" The Oakland men's cross country, women's cross country, women's golf and women's tennis teams all received Academic Progress Rates (APR) Public Recognition Awards by the NCAA for producing scores in the top 10 percent in their respective sports. The four teams are the most for Oakland in one multiyear APR report.
The most recent APRs are the multiyear rates based on scores from the 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 academic years. A total of 306 schools had teams recognized with Public Recognition Awards.
The Golden Grizzlies captured their second consecutive Horizon League Women's Cross Country title this season. Oakland's Rachel Levy captured her first individual cross country title en route to being named Horizon League Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Year. Bryce Stroede became just the second men's runner to win an individual cross country title and earned Horizon League Athlete of the Year accolades.
The NCAA will release all APR reports on May 10th.
