Feb. 3, 2017 YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Brandon Davis placed first in long jump and broke his own school record with a mark of 23 ft., 7.5 in. and the women's distance medley relay team of Ashley Burr, Chanel Gardner, Rachel Levy and Lydia Stanley placed second and set a new school record with a time of 11:55.18 to lead Oakland on the first day of the Youngstown National Invitational on Friday.
George O'Connor placed in the 5000m (14:37.77), followed by Jacob Bowman finishing third (14:38.66) and Bryce Stroede finishing fourth (14:38.84). For the women, Miranda Haas placed third in the 5000m (17:41.97) and Dana Tessmer finished third in pole vault (11 ft., 6.5 in.).
The meet resumes tomorrow with field events beginning at 10 a.m. followed by running events at 11 a.m.
