ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland men's golf team will head to Indiana this weekend to compete in the NYX Hoosier Invitational on Saturday from the Indiana University Golf Course (par 71, 6,813 yards) in Bloomington, Ind. The two-day tournament begins on Saturday with 36 holes starting at 8:30 a.m. ET with the final round to be played on Sunday with the shotgun start scheduled for 9:15 a.m. ET.

The Golden Grizzlies are coming off an eighth-place finish at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate in Sevierville, Tenn. Jake Kneen was Oakland's top finisher with a share of 16th place with a 6-over par 222. Marc Norton tied for 22nd place with a 225 and Evan Bowser placed 26th with a total score of 226.

Evan Bowser is in his senior year after winning the Horizon League Championship last season and tying for 33rd at the NCAA Regionals. After being named an All-Horizon League selection last year, Bowser became the first player in program history to be an all-league selection his first three seasons. He broke the school record for career rounds under-par and is the school's career stroke-average leader at 73.51. Bowser posted three top-10 finishes out of four events in the Fall, highlighted by breaking the school record for lowest 54-hole tournament stroke score with a 205 (-8) at the Derek Dolenc Invitational. He shot a 68 during the tournament which ranked tied for the 18th-lowest single round in program history.

Jake Kneen, the reigning Horizon League Freshman of the Year, recorded the second-best stroke average in the Fall with a 73.91 and has four round this spring of even-par or better. He has a 73.40 stroke average this season, just 0.40 behind Bowser. Jacob Johnson carded one of the best rounds of the Fall with a 69 during the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate.
