OAKLAND SMOTHERS FLAMES IN HORIZON LEAGUE OPENER, 81-58

ROCHESTER, Mich.- Sha'Keya Graves scored 12 points setting career-highs with eight rebounds and eight assists while Nicole Dodd matched her career-best 12 points hitting 4-for-5 from behind the arc as the Oakland women's basketball team opened Horizon League play with a 81-58 win over visiting UIC on Thursday afternoon. Taylor Jones led all scorers with 22 points.

Taylor Gleason also added a season-high eight assists as the Golden Grizzlies dished a season second-best 24 assists.

Oakland continues Horizon League play with a New Year's Eve tilt against visiting Valparaiso on Saturday, Dec. 31 at noon.
