Nov. 4, 2016

#3 Chase Jabbori

Three greatest accomplishments at Oakland:

  1. Going undefeated in Horizon League play during the 2015 season
  2. Beating Kentucky 2-0 in the first round of the NCAA tournament at their place in 2015
  3. Repeating and winning the Horizon League Tournament for the second year in a row in 2016

Favorite memory as a student-athlete: "Winning the Horizon League Tournament for the first time and getting to celebrate at home with all of the fans."

Coach Pogue had this to say about Chase: "As a fifth year senior transferring to Oakland from Akron in the Fall of 2013, Chase has put together his best year for our young squad by leading the team in scoring. He has always been willing to do whatever is in the best interest of team and fill in wherever necessary to be successful. An extremely versatile player that has seen time as a defender and midfielder, Chase is a lead by example player that is extremely humble on and off the field. I have known him for many, many years dating back to his youth days with Michigan Jags and Vardar. It has been really nice to see him through this journey, not only as a soccer player, but more importantly as a young man with a very bright future with med school on the horizon for him."

#16 Alex Serwatka

Three greatest accomplishments at Oakland:

  1. Scoring first collegiate goal against Rio Grande
  2. Winning back-to-back Horizon League Titles
  3. Scoring game-winning goal against Northern Kentucky

Favorite memory as a student-athlete: "My favorite memory as a student-athlete was winning back-to-back Horizon League titles. I also enjoyed getting to know and play with my teammates I've had over the past five years. I have learned so much from everyone and I want to say thank you for all the amazing times we had as a team. It was always a dream to play college soccer and that dream became a reality."

Coach Pogue on Alex: "Alex is a fifth year senior who has been a part of three championship teams including back-to-back Horizon League championships. His role on the team continued to increase having seen time at numerous different positions before finding a home as an attacking third of the field. From there, he has been an instrumental part of the success of the team as an extremely versatile player with great size, speed, athleticism and finishing ability. I have known Alex since he was 10 years old dating back to his playing days with Troy, Vardar and WAZA. It has been great to see him develop and mature through the years from a small boy into a young man with a bright future ahead of him."

#15 Brendan Woodfull

Three greatest accomplishments at Oakland:

  1. Winning two Horizon League Championships
  2. Playing in NCAA tournament games
  3. Graduating with a degree in Marketing

Favorite memory as a student-athlete: "After winning the Horizon League tournament on our home field, there was an unforgettable atmosphere on campus. Celebrating the championship with the team and students that stormed the pitch is something I will never forget."

Coach Pogue on Brendan: "Brendan transferred to us in January 2014 after spending his freshman season playing at Oregon State but lives right across the tunnel in Windsor, Ontario so we have known about him for quite some time. I think Oakland was a good fit for him from a geographic standpoint to be closer to home, family and friends while continuing to get a quality education and soccer experience. In his first two years, Brendan played a key role in helping us win back-to-back league championships with his versatility to play numerous different positions because of his athleticism, size and strength. He worked extremely hard over the summer preparing for a great senior season but unfortunately suffered injuries leading into pre-season but we are hoping to have him back with us next Fall to finish his senior year the right way."
