CLEVELAND -- Alli Gutschow recorded a career-high 31 digs to go along with five assists and one service ace as the Oakland volleyball team took down Milwaukee in five sets at Woodling Gym in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League Tournament. As a team the Golden Grizzlies tallied 106 digs, the fifth-most in a match in program history.
Melissa Deatsch recorded 12 kills and 24 digs while Darien Bandel added 13 kills and 12 digs. Jessica Dood slammed a team-high 15 kills plus six digs and five blocks and Krysteena Davis led the team with seven blocks to go with her 10 kills, hitting .400 and two digs.
The Golden Grizzlies will face No. 1 seed Cleveland State tomorrow at 3 p.m. on ESPN3 for a spot in the Horizon League title game. Oakland handed the Vikings its only home league loss of the season on Sept. 23.
