ROCHESTER, Mich. - At the beginning of the season Oakland cross country standout Bryce Stroede knew that he would have to be the anchor for the men's team. So far this season he has been that runner.
This season Stroede has helped the team capture two first place finishes at home, a 12th finish at the Joe PIane Notre Dame Invite and a 12th finish at the Adidas Pre-National Invitational.
Stroede has shown why he is a one of the top runners in the Horizon League, as he had been named Horizon League Co-Runner and Horizon League Runner of the week. He also has two first place finishes, both of which were captured at home.
On the road Stroede has been making a name for himself. At the Joe PIane Notre Dame Invite he placed second out of 183 runners in the Gold 5-Mile race with a time of 24:32.6, and at the Adidas Pre-National Invitational he placed 12th out of 137 runners in the men's 8k white race with a time of 25:10.8.
Stroede and the team will in action this weekend as they head to the Horizon League Championship on Saturday, Oct 29 at 12 p.m. held in Parkside, WI.
