DETROIT - Elena Popkey scored a team-high 18 points with five rebounds and three assists to lead Oakland (11-7, 3-4) over rival University of Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon at Calihan Hall. With the win, the Golden Grizzlies take a commanding 11-1 lead over UDM in the Metro Series standing driven by Trinity Transportation.

Olivia Nash, Taylor Jones and Sinclair Russell each had 16 points with Russell hitting a clutch 3-pointer with only 57 seconds remaining which was just her second on the season. Popkey and Taylor Gleason followed with a pair of free throws each to seal the game.
