ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland women's cross country runner Morgan Bridgewater has been named Oakland's Student-Athlete of the Week, for the week of Sept. 21-27, after claiming the individual title at the Glen Oaks Viking Invitational on Friday.

Bridgewater, a senior from Commerce, Mich., ran a time of 20:40 to win the 5K event held in Centerville, Mich. She helped lead the Golden Grizzlies to a 1-2 finish in the race as teammate Lauren Zens finished runner-up.

The Golden Grizzlies return to action this weekend when they travel to Kentucky to compete in the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday, Oct. 3.
