ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland men's golf team continues its spring season this week as it competes in the Wallace Jones Invitational, hosted by Louisiana-Monroe, on Monday and Tuesday from Black Bear Golf Club (par 72, 7,276 yards) in Delhi, La.
Last week, the Golden Grizzlies posted their third-best 54-hole tournament score in program history with a 2-under-par 862 to finish fourth overall at the Jackrabbit Invitational. Jake Kneen led Oakland finishing T12 with a 210 (-6) followed closely by Evan Bowser, who shot the second-lowest round in program history with a final round 66 (-6), with a 3-under-par 213 to place T14.
Bowser leads the Golden Grizzlies with a 73.40 stroke average. He currently ranks second all-time in rounds under par with 19 and trails current PGA professional Brian Stuard (2001-05) who finished his Oakland career with 21 rounds under par.
Jimmy Jaskoske is third on the team with a 75.80 stroke average, while Sean Burgess is close behind with a 76.47.
