DETROIT (AP) - Freshman Paris Bass scored 18 points to lead Detroit to a 74-54 win over Oakland on Saturday.
Juwan Howard Jr. made 3 of 4 from beyond the arc for 11 points and Anton Wilson added 10 for Detroit (8-9, 2-1 Horizon League).
Wilson nailed a 3-point jumper for a 20-18 advantage with 7:55 left in the first half and Detroit went on to lead 38-23 at the break. Oakland never challenged in the final period.
The Detroit defense forced 21 turnovers and picked up 16 fast break points. The Titans made 28 of 60 field goal attempts (46.7 percent) while limiting Oakland to 19-of-55 shooting (34.5 percent). Detroit scored 36 points in the paint and the Golden Grizzles made 16 up close.
Kahlil Felder had 16 points and Ralph Hill chipped in 10 for Oakland (5-12, 1-2).
Felder battled foul trouble in the first half, picking up his third foul with 4:34 and Oakland down 25-23. The Titans then went on a 13-0 run to close out the first half up 38-23.
