INDIANAPOLIS - Oakland's Stephanie Bukovec has been named Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 15 -21, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Green Bay's Heidi Hartmann was named Offensive Player of the Week.

Bukovec, a sophomore from Toronto, Ontario, tallied a league-best 12 saves last week. She recorded a career-high nine saves facing 19 shots to preserve Oakland's 1-1 double-overtime tie at Kent State on Friday afternoon. On Sunday, she earned her first career win shutting out St. Francis in the second half en route to a 4-1 Golden Grizzlies victory.

Oakland begins Horizon League play with a match at Valparaiso on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
