ROCHESTER, Mich. - Led by Kendra Prince's goal and assist coupled with Alison Holland's first career shutout, the Oakland women's soccer team blanked Saginaw Valley, 4-0, Thursday night at the OU Soccer Field. Jenna Taylor, Kyla Kellermann and Vlad Gurovski also scored helping Margaret Saurin secure her first victory as head coach.

"We are really happy with the win," said Saurin. "The girls put out a really good performance tonight. Obviously, four goals in any game is fantastic but really happy with the shutout and the way the team defended tonight."

In the 32nd minute, Prince took a cross from Brianne Horne and placed a shot into the upper left corner beating Saginaw keeper Claire Spleth from five yards out putting Oakland up 1-0.

Four minutes into the second half, Taylor took a feed from Prince 14 yards out and ripped a shot into upper right corner giving the Golden Grizzlies at 2-0 lead.

Oakland was not done as Jenny Rosonke dribbled the ball down the left side into the box and placed a perfect pass right to Kellermann who buried the shot in the 62nd minute.

Gurovski closed out the game placing a mishandled ball by Spleth right outside the goal line into the back of the net.

Oakland continues its home stand with a match against Illinois on Sunday, Aug. 31st at 1 p.m.
