2014-15 Schedule
ROCHESTER, Mich. - Coming off their runner-up finish at the 2014 Horizon League Championship, the Oakland women's golf team faces a formidable schedule this season as the team prepares for a run at the 2015 Horizon League title.
"The women's team has a nice balance to their schedule with opportunities to compete against some top-ranked teams while taking part in first-time events," Oakland head coach Russ Cunningham said. "Of course, we are very much looking forward to hosting our own event this fall."
The Golden Grizzlies will host the Oakland Invitational Sept. 27-28 at Katke-Cousins Golf Course as part of the team's five-event fall slate. The team will compete at Illinois State Sept. 7-8 and Michigan State Sept. 13-14 before arriving back on campus to host eight squads for the Oakland Invitational.
Oakland will wrap up the fall when it travels to the Diane Thomason Invitational, hosted by Iowa Oct. 4-5, for the first time, and the University of Dayton Fall Invitational Oct. 20-21.
Six events await the Golden Grizzlies in spring, starting at the GCU Invitational Feb. 23-25 in Phoenix, Ariz. and the Red Rocks Invitational Feb. 28-March 1, also in Arizona. The team will also play in Nevada, Indiana and Ohio in the spring.
The 2015 Horizon League Championship is again at Howie-In-The-Hills, Fla. April 24-26. The team champion of the Horizon League Championship will advance to the NCAA Regionals May 7-9 at various sites. The NCAA Championship, which will feature match-play for the first time in women's golf history, will be played May 22-27 at The Concession Golf Club at Bradenton, Fla.
